No matter what the industry, rejection can become very demotivating and frustrating and drive people out of a sales career. Unfortunately, many companies do not provide their people with the skills needed to succeed. Such as the skills to: Lower the prospects guard down so that they actually listen, preventing objections before they happen, creating curiosity in the first 30 seconds, knowing what questions to ask and how to ask them, understanding how and when to close without sounding salesy. There is one thing that builds confidence, and it's not getting your head beat in every day. It's developing the right skills, which will develop the right mindset to build consistency of behaviors in order to succeed.

The key to overcoming rejection is to focus on the inputs that will lead to predictable outputs. When you focus on a process, you get results. When you focus on results, you get frustrated. It's trite to tell someone to "brush it off and keep going." Not everybody is going to be a fit for your services right now, and it's never personal. Success is never guaranteed. That's why it's so fulfilling when you achieve it. Believe in the value of what you sell and the outcomes it produces, and continue to look for reasons why your prospect should listen to you. You've succeeded in the past, and you will again soon.
