You're facing pushback from your team on automation tools for process design. How can you get them on board?

If there is a pushback, my initial actions would be to understand the real reason behind that - it could be lack of training, people might not feel confident that they can use the new tools, or they might be real experts on the old process/ system and might be afraid that would loose credibility or reputation. If you know the real motives behind the pushback than you can truly handle the situation. So we need to listen with an intend to understand.

In my experience I had started addressing concerns, demonstrating benefits, involving my team, and providing support, help ease the transition to automation tools and encourage your team to embrace them.

For every 10 years in IT, there will be major tech. changes. Org.,running smoothly will pushback new changes due fear of losing jobs, losing their importance.more in mid-career guys,who works hard to reach a position.To implement change, we need to plan change management, identify stakeholders and tasks to achieve the goal. We need 3Ts to achieve this goal, 1. Touch, 2. Tranform & 3.Translate. 1. Touch is important to keep all employees understand the need for change, empathize them how important they are to company and their contribution. 2. Transform - To set rules and timelines for employees to adopt new technologies and motivate them. 3. Translate - To show effective leadership to adopt new changes to meet the vision of the company.

Facing pushback from your team on automation tools for process design is a common challenge, and getting them on board requires a strategic approach. Here’s how you can address the situation: 1. Understand the Concerns: Listen Actively: Start by engaging in open dialogue with your team to understand their concerns. Are they worried about job security, lack of skills, or the complexity of the tools? Empathy: Show empathy by acknowledging their concerns and validating their feelings. Let them know you understand the challenges they see.

Según mi experiencia, para que una persona pueda aceptar cualquier cambio se debe de sentir involucrada, escuchada y valorada, es la mejor forma de que ellos puedan aceptar cualquier modificación o cambio de perspectiva, mediante esto se logra romper los paradigmas y se genera mayor conciencia del impacto a generar. Por otro lado, hay que presentar datos para que vean de manera visual el porque de las cosas y no sientan que se quiere imponer nuestra voluntad

Understanding why automation is key for growth is the first hurdle. If your team can see the benefits, they’ll be asking “when” instead of “what?”. I haven’t met one person who understands the perks of automation and DOESNT want to implement it. Be clear, honest and list the benefits and you’ll be fine

La educación también es un punto clave, ya que, ellos deben de entender que el usar herramientas de automatización los liberara de trabajos mecánicos y repetitivos que no a?aden tanto valor lo que les dará la oportunidad de hacer trabajos que les ayuden a generar un mayor impacto y que son mas estratégicos

Creo que lo mejor que se puede hacer es no tapar y ocultar el como funciona la herramienta, cuando las personas conocen la interacción automática y como son los flujos de trabajo y que se puede lograr generar más tranquilidad ya que conocen a que se están enfrentando.

Timing and training play pivotal roles. Taking a practical approach is crucial when rolling out new automation tools. It's important that your team, recognises the advantages and get hands-on experience. Working directly with the tools, practice, will help them grasp the benefits and understand the potential value. Provide a training program that aligns to your business’ key drivers for value add, focus on practical, hands-on experience and conduct refresher sessions consistently, to new trainees by employees that went through the training programs already. This method will help build confidence in trained (again refreshing / sharpening up their skills) and untrained employees, and ensure a smoother transition to using the new tools.

La mejor forma de mostrar los beneficios es con ejemplos de otras compa?ías y los logros que obtuvieron en rendimiento pero también mostrar que su trabajo pasará de ser menos operativo y será más estratégico menos trabajar datos y más generar ideas o detectar novedades.

Ich würde das Team dazu einladen, ein Experiment durchzuführen: Wir w?hlen einen kleinen, nicht kritischen Prozess aus und automatisieren ihn gemeinsam. Die gewonnene Zeit und die gemessenen Ergebnisse vergleichen wir mit dem bisherigen Vorgehen. Die positiven Effekte k?nnten skeptische Teammitglieder überzeugen. Falls das Experiment scheitert, haben wir immer noch wertvolle Erkenntnisse gewonnen und das Teamgefühl gest?rkt.

In my experience, if the team feels that they have fallback support, rather than criticism for the initial trial-and-error phase, they are more likely to feel comfortable to explore and get their hands dirty. This initial trial-and-error iterative loop is crucial for establishing a new status quo of comfort with the recently applied changes.

Das Einrichten eines Helpdesks oder Peer-Support-Systems ist eine gute Idee, da es die Hemmschwelle senkt, bei Schwierigkeiten um Hilfe zu bitten.
