Before making any project changes, perform an impact assessment. Know how the changes will affect the end date of the project. Where possible, reassign existing resources in such a way that the project completion end date is maintained. Hold a crisis meeting with all stakeholders and assess the change and scope. If it's agreed that dates are impacted and the changes must be done, prepare a communication to inform all stakeholders.
