Get information on how decisions by understanding priorities among trade offs. And think outside of the known asks and determine why functionality is requested, to see if there are better or easy to deliver solutions that may not have been considered.

AWS Glue can be used for cloud based spark jobs, to only pay what you use.

In my experience, a good data engineering team already has a collection of suitable packages and libraries for all tasks in a data transformation pipeline (ingestion, cleansing, enrichment, aggregation, etc.). Reuse whenever possible is the key to ensuring development speed and ease of maintenance. In terms of tools, you should rely on the functionality of modern data platforms such as Snowflake or Databricks with their collaborative features and integration with Spark to provide scalable and efficient solutions for robust data pipelines. Not forgetting integration with reverse ETL tools (Hightouch, Census) to feed data back into operational systems.
