As an entrepreneur we need to always bring a new perspective to the market. As a small brand we work to create our niche in product by creating something that hasn’t been done before. At Cali Strong we were the first brand to incorporate interchangeable patches on headwear to create unlimited looks. We were the first to create a 3-way buckethat that is reversible and has a patch. We created a glow-in-the-dark ink for our apparel that is considered the brightest ink in the market turning blue at night instead of the traditional green. We create innovative business practices to differentiate ourselves. At our retail stores we give a free pair of $15 socks with every purchase and give a pair of our $75 shoes with every complete skateboard.

This is like a superpower especially in the B2B space. Often businesses feel that this strategy is mainly effective for the Fortune 500 or the large enterprises but I've seen it and leveraged it first-hand. Getting your brand and people out there engaging with potential customers in a professional setting is invaluable. Being amongst your competitors fighting for the customer's attention is exhilarating, but at the same time gives an immense learning opportunity to be on in the same battleground if you will. For startups or small businesses, some of the best ideas evolve from these direct and personal engagements with colleagues, peers, competitors and customers.
