Sometimes, long To Do lists - even well-prioritised ones - can be overwhelming. A technique I use is called Post-it Prioritisation. This involves writing on a Post-it note just 3 things that you absolutely will get done today before you finish work. It forces you to pick the most important 3 things, and to break down bigger tasks into ones that can be cleanly considered complete. You end your day feeling great about yourself and the work you've achieved.

Within Slack, we use a butterfly icon as our status to convey that we are in focus mode. The whole team knows not to interrupt someone in flow state when they see that status, and it also encourages more deep work throughout the company as there is a visual cue to remind people of the importance of flow.
