Among the most common complaints from patients: - "He/she did not even look at my face, did not perform any physical examination, just handed me the prescription and blood tests." - This is complaint number 1, believe me. - Interactions with healthcare providers (HCPs) are too short and patients have no time to explain their situation. - Patients leave the medical office without understanding the diagnosis and why they should take the medications prescribed. So, listen to the patient. They are the ones who know what they are feeling. Perform physical examination. Explain the diagnosis, medical tests and purpose of medications clearly, in a patient-friendly language. Show true empathy. Sounds basic and simple, but this is the best care.
-
Network, network and network. Network extensively. Collaborating with HCPs, medical insurance providers, nurses, PSP members, medical representatives and other parties involved in healthcare will create a safety net for your patients to ensure that they will receive the best patient advocacy, even in your absence.

The best healthcare is with care. Review the anamnesis, check if there is something new in the clinical picture (secondary diagnosis and other developments may occur), verify diagnosis hypotheses, and discuss the case with an expert or a professor. Collaborating with anyone is not the case; you need experienced doctors to help you with these patients and to learn from them.

In challenging patient situations, ensure the best care by first actively listening to the patient's needs and concerns to foster trust and understanding. Collaborate closely with the healthcare team to ensure a clear and consistent plan, considering patient-centered solutions. Document each step and maintain open, transparent communication with both the patient and family. If conflicts arise, act as a mediator, keeping the patient’s well-being and preferences at the forefront, and involve support services as necessary for holistic care.
