Don't worry about length of resume. Focus on relevant content, keywords and selling your skills not explaining your skills. Don't over describe your duties, but focus on highlighting your achievements and ability to do the job and exceed.

Unpopular opinion: page length doesn't matter AS LONG AS everything in the resume is RELEVANT, ALIGNED, and RECENT. However, it's fair that some job advertisements call for 1- or 2-page documents. So, you can cut out: - Experience older than 10 years (unless directly relevant to the role). - Education that is not relevant to the role. - Training or courses that are older than 10 years or expired. - Interests, languages, volunteer work (unless directly relevant to the role). - Added "fluff" or "filler words." You can also use sidebars/columns to help condense more information onto a single page (Use with caution: ensure the format or template you use is ATS-Compliant and doesn't overly clutter the document). We are so programmed to copy our job description (from our offer or contract) and just paste it onto our resume ?? But you don't have to do this! You're not breaking any rules. In fact, as long as you're not lying you can put anything you want onto your resume. My suggestion, especially if you have a lot of experience and many years to cover, is to highlight what you DID, rather than what your role's requirements were. Eg. as a Global Recruiter I can say:- ? I filled 40 roles in the past year in Europe, APAC & LATAM (Tech, Sales & back office staff) ? I used x and y technology to reduce Time to Hire, Cost per Hire to (*insert numbers here*) ? I led a small team of 2 Recruiters This tells more of a story than a list of duties ??♀?

Quantify the impact you made using data and metrics. Only include relevant job experiences and skills that are listed in the job description. Quantify your achievements and outcomes. For example: Managed a team of 5 FTEs with an annual budget of $500K.

Five years is not enough trajectory for the clients I write resumes for - they have been in the professional world for 20+ years. How far I go back is very situation-dependent, but 15-20 years is the norm for my clients show I can show their growth.

This is a resume, not a curriculum Vitae. Use LinkedIn and similar platforms to display your vast experience. Your resume needs to be very concise and not more than 15 years, especially if you have been changing jobs regularly. If however, in the last 15 years you have had just one job, you can include Some previous roles. If you are in a senior position, they definitely don’t want to know about the side job that you had in school. Two pages is sufficient, if you can communicate well.

Eventually I summarised the jobs I had (wow was it 15 years ago now ????) Unfortunately, the experience you have from then is simply more of a snap shot than something anyone is going to go deeply into. What I would say is important though:- ? Were you a Top Achiever ? Why you chose those jobs & why you left Past behavior predicts future behavior, so if you were a bit of a rascal then truly summarize and move on to better things! ??

When in doubt, your decisions about what to include should be content-driven first, and then you can play around with formatting so the content fits a one- or two-page resume.

A note stating "further employment history available on request" or "please refer to my LinkedIn profile for more information on my career history" is a great way to direct them to places outside of your resume/CV to find out more.
