En procesos de reestructuración, es mejor dar la cara ante todas las inquietudes, confesar que no se conocen de momento todas las respuestas y comprometer el mejor esfuerzo en averiguarlas. Esto evitará la tentación de dar respuestas "para zafar de la situación", sin suficiente verificación y que pueda verse al tiempo que no se ajustaban a la realidad. Al atravesar procesos críticos, las personas extremamos nuestra sensibilidad, nuestra percepción de indicios que confirmen o no que lo que se nos dice es confiable y de esa manera reforzamos nuestra adhesión. Por el contrario, si las respuestas observables, tanto en lo que se dice como en lo que se hace, no se corresponde con la realidad, la confianza cae y con ella el compromiso.

Disponer de equipos de apoyo, ante estas previsibles situaciones de bloqueo en el personal, es una opción necesaria para acortar los tiempos de la efectiva implementación de los cambios, pues al estar atentos a las preocupaciones y atenderlas, se gana en comprensión del personal sobre los alcances de la reestructuración y en sumar voluntades como agentes de apoyo a los cambios.

Muchas veces olvidamos que las decisiones de reestructuración, tienen por objetivo en muchas ocasiones, poder asegurar la continuidad en el largo plazo de las organizaciones, y por difícil que sea el proceso, las medidas permitirán mantener la fuerza laboral activa de la mayor cantidad de trabajadores posible. Tomarse el tiempo para escuchar, para hacer saber lo que nos ocurre con la noticia, siendo precisos en la información, y claros, permite abordar procesos humanizados y mejor recepcionados por los trabajadores afectados.
