Coaching is a process of enablement and helping client succeed in life. With this motto, it should be clear to the coach that setting right standards and morals are of upmost importance. Thus, even if client says so, or asks for dishonesty then it becomes more than important for coach to bring the focus in right direction. Coach should set an example themselves by pursuing right values and being ethical in his/her own values, should also share own life examples or other examples which can help client better understand the distinction between right and wrong. Such enabling conditions will help client choose a path for their own betterment.

When a client requests dishonesty, it's crucial to stand firm in your values and maintain integrity in your coaching practice. Politely explain the importance of honesty and transparency for building trust and achieving long-term success. Offer alternative solutions that align with ethical standards, and emphasize the potential risks of dishonest actions. Upholding your principles will not only protect your reputation but also guide your client towards more constructive choices.

A successful coaching practice requires retaining integrity when dealing with clients who demand dishonesty. First, tell the customer that sincerity and openness are essential for genuine progress while being rooted in your core principles. Establish unambiguous ethical guidelines by stating that your coaching upholds professional standards that exclude dishonesty. Investigate the client's fundamental issues and present different, ethically sound solutions to their demands. If need, inform them of the possible repercussions of acting unethically, and be ready to leave if they don't change. Maintaining integrity builds credibility and long-term trust in addition to strengthening your practice.

When a client pushes you to compromise your integrity, it’s a pivotal moment in your coaching journey. Staying true to your values, even when it’s uncomfortable, is non-negotiable. Coaching is about trust, and that trust comes from being transparent and honest, no matter the situation. I handle such situations by addressing the concern head-on, highlighting the long-term damage dishonesty can cause. Offering alternative solutions that align with both ethical standards and the client’s goals can often provide a middle ground. After all, integrity in coaching isn’t just about doing what’s right—it’s about leading by example.

Integrity is one thing in our lives as human beings, outside and inside our coaching profession. Integrity is not negotiable, and it is simply doing what we have to do when we are being watched and when we are not being watched. It is having coherence between what we think, say and do. Integrity is what the angels will say about us when we get to heaven. As coaches, we owe ourselves to a code of ethics that is very clear.
