Do you REALLY understand your brand? Do you REALLY know the DNA that makes you....you? Because that needs your exploration first. Instead of saying 'we need to go after 'x' market,' turn that on its head and ask 'what markets that don't currently think about us, but share elements of our DNA?' Because it's absolutely correct that you need to be deeply immersed in and understand the niche and let THEM lead you....but you ALSO need to coming from your own authentic place. What values, attributes or expressions do you share?

Niche markets require expertise – you can't decide you're going to focus on a market you don't have the skills and experience in. Start with getting to know your target market really well?and doing work in it. Speak to them, understand their challenges, experience the frustrations and wins, find the gaps – learn it inside and out. Then, once you can confidently (and honestly) know that you bring niche expertise, you need to create content on the subject which shows your authority. Think case studies, thought leadership articles, interviews, speaking opportunities etc. The combination of real value (through expertise) and authority (through knowledge-sharing) will set up you to be positioned as an authentic resource for niche markets.
