In my view, testing of breaker are different as per type of breaker but one thing is common. PDT should be at high priority and timing of closing and opening of breaker is important. Sometimes , only coils are not important, mechanical arrangements and limit switches should also be covered in the testing.

I would add the Control Circuit test to the list. The electronic coils in modern circuit breakers are responsible for opening and closing the main contacts. These components are operated by substation batteries at low voltage levels and are susceptible to failure if not checked regularly. A small trip coil that fails to operate during a system fault can result in catastrophic damage to the power grid and necessary system outages. To test the circuit breaker control circuits, trip and close coil current shall be measured, as well as the minimum pickup voltage. The measured values should be compared with the manufacturer’s specifications. Any significant changes from the baseline test signature should be further investigated.
