Having a theme to start with is always great, but if you find you don't really know or you are eclectic like myself, I would say start with a piece of art work that you may like and work around that. Personally I like art that stands out and makes a statement ,and a little more on the bigger side in size. Then I would pluck colours or a particular colour if you don't want to over do it and pick your accessories accordingly.
