Curiosamente, en mi experiencia, las empresas con la seguridad informática más robusta, son aquellas en las que esta responsabilidad es conducida por un área de Compliance que no reporta con TI, y es llevada a cabo por hackers éticos e incluso personas con antecedentes profesionales en seguridad pública. Definitivamente debe ser talento que esté imaginando maneras de vulnerar a la organización todo el tiempo, pero precisamente con el afán de blindar los posibles huecos. Por otro lado, hay que instrumentar prácticas en "Ingeniería de Resiliencia del Sitio" o SRE por sus siglas en Inglés, para aquellos incidentes de seguridad que no se originan de una intención criminal sino de un descuido humano, pero que no deja de afectar a las empresas.

Siguiendo un poco la analogía, imaginemos que tenemos un exitoso restaurante de comida rápida, pero vamos a transformarlo a cocina mexicana de autor. Si no consideramos costos de remodelación, tecnología, y yendo más allá, nuestro personal no adquiere la capacidad para lograr platillos sofisticados, nuestra vida será muy complicada por los siguientes a?os. Un error común de las empresas no es escoger a un proveedor de nube. Es evaluar el costo de un proveedor de integración de sistemas a corto plazo en lugar de ponderar que la modernización de algunas aplicaciones puede maximizar su rendimiento en la nube en lugar ejecutar un enfoque básico de "lift & shift", que cada vez es menos empleado porque el retorno de inversión es muy limitado.

Contratar empresas especializadas en un nicho como puden ser modernización, pruebas (testing), automatización, etc. está bien, pero muchos CIOs, CTOs y roles similares confían en Integradores de Sistemas Globales - o GSIs por sus siglas en Inglés - que cuentan con portafolios de servicio muy amplios para: ayudarles a escoger la nube que se adapte mejor a sus necesidades, llevar a la cabo la planeación de migración, ejecutarla y... conducir el soporte y servicio, todo lo anterior debido a que este tipo de empresas privilegían la gestión de conocimiento como uno de sus principales pilares de sus servicios.
