I don't think there is a single best way. I believe a better way to think about it is to ask what the best way for your audience is. Some audiences comment a lot, some prefer responding to polls. Others are a bit more passive and may just read and enjoy your work. Always connect engagement to a business outcome that is important to you. It's not as simple as "the one with the most likes wins!"
