To me, for a temporary assignment, the most important parameters are; a) Time management: You know that other assignments are equally important and you are accountable for each of them. b) Priority management: Among assignments, you need to put the right weightage to each assignment based on i) whether it's personal or professional ii) Risk and Reward iii) Return c) Time goal or horizon. d) How it fits with your aspirations.

Building a network is good. References are the best way to grow. Know your clients. You never know who you are dealing with. Be positive and helpful and always drop your name with a smile.

When in direct sales, work with other staff. They might know the customer that you are dealing with. They can give you advice, however, you be you. You need to be confident.
