Digital twins are transforming systems engineering by providing virtual replicas of physical systems that enable performance prediction, process optimization, and diagnostics. This technology is increasingly important in several industries, enhancing system lifecycle management and decision-making. Proficiency in creating and managing digital twins will be a key skill for systems engineers. In my experience as a Systems Engineer at Capgemini, I found the extensive use of digital twins, especially while modeling a UAV for search and rescue missions. This project involved applying Model-Based Systems Engineering MBSE, effectively creating a digital twin of the UAV and showcasing the technology's practical benefits in real-world applications.

System engineering is also evolving especially in Aerospace and Automotive industries. Digital twin is one of the upcoming concepts in the area of system engineering because creating virtual replica of existing system digitally has many benefits in reducing cost and providing accurate data with less time. Digital twin has mutifold benefits in the future. All organisations shall use the concept of Digital twins in their products to analyse them easily by providing them the real world data .
