If you feel that an individual's seniority will impact your ability to build trust, then I would seriously look within. What is it that you are bringing to the table that is impacting your ability to connect with them? What is it that you are bringing to the table that is impacting your ability to be fully present with them? Having coached hundreds of senior leaders, I can say without a shadow of a doubt, that it doesn't matter how senior they are... They are still people and have everyday people problems!
