We do not have to make grandiloquent ceremonies to emotionally reward the team. A SINCERE thank you email is enough. And if we are talking about volunteer projects, of course we should mention the IMPACT generated.

Take a break in your projects after reaching a milestone. I know it's tempting to keep moving on to the next milestone immediately but it might burn out everyone. Organize a diner, a virtual party, send a gift to everyone, anything that feels like celebrating. Define a resting period and then start the next project!

When designing a project of any kind we obviously establish a series of milestones that should be met. From a psychological point of view, it seems more convenient to set short term objectives than to look at the end of the tunnel. The same goes for celebrations. Celebrating each milestone will act as a driving force to achieve the following objectives. It will empower each and every member of the team to keep rowing in the same direction. It is the time to stop and get and give feedbacks, to thank the effort, to establish the points of improvement if necessary, congratulating ourselves for the way we have gone. Partial congratulations and encouragement bring cohesion and potential to the team while waiting for the final congratulation.

I think this is really important. As a volunteer, you may not be able to see the bigger picture of how you are contributing to society. Having a celebration with a mini presentation is a good way to have your volunteers come together and see how much difference they've made, the number of smiles they've given to beneficiaries, the number of hearts they've touched. Even better if you are able to get the beneficiaries to do something nice for the volunteers, it's really heartwarming when the volunteers themselves receive a tangible form of gratitude from the beneficiaries as many beneficiaries don't know how to express their gratitude in person.

One of the things I have most valued throughout my professional life is the fact that I am given opportunities to grow. Unfortunately, this has not always been the case. When I talk about growing, I am referring to a holistic level, both professionally and humanly. For doing so, we can make their individual digital social media post along with their personal photo and upload it in our social media. And you can give some incentives or gifts to those volunteer warrior. I think this is the best method to appreciate.

And I believe that the so-called EMOTIONAL WAGE is increasingly valued by employees when it comes to being loyal to an organization. In the context of volunteering, motivation often comes "as standard" as it is conditioned by a vital purpose of the volunteer and an alignment with the VALUES of the organization and the GOALS to be achieved by the project he/she will be part of. However, in order to obtain the greatest IMPACT, it is very important that both the MOTIVATION for the project and the REWARD OR CONGRATULATION are largely provided by the promoters of the volunteer initiative.
