The executive leadership defines the objective behind the intelligence. A clearly defined North Star. 2. Identify the right people to drive this. The people then put in place the process to get to the North Star, with guidance from leadership, and streamline the process across (input > processing >output) 3. 1 and 2 will provide insight into what you need from the BI tool, and what is good to have. This needs to be agreed on. Post which best suited tools could be shortlisted and choice made post trial. Start simple, focus on usage and utility and scale & sophisticate
