One thing I’ve found helpful, would be make sure we are in some form of chat, that would inform all, because when you have the right team, if someone missed the message, we would hold each other accountable. Team work makes the dream work.

Research shows golfers most prioritize firm fairways and fast greens when evaluating courses. For this reason, golf superintendents must prioritize maintenance routines for “The Big Three.” According to USGA, the recipe for putting green perception includes three factors: Firm, Slope, and Speed. Firm putting greens ensure balls move far from where they land. Fast putting greens allow balls to roll freely. Slopes, or gradients, allow for challenging levels of play. The USGA recommends maintaining firmness, speed, and slope with three tools: a Stimpmeter, TruFirm, and a digital level.

I establish clear, consistent communication through daily briefings and detailed maintenance schedules. Using a shared digital platform or a visible notice board allows everyone to access up-to-date task lists, weather forecasts, and priority changes. Encouraging feedback during team meetings helps address any confusion, ensuring the crew stays aligned and operates efficiently.
