When asked about your experience with a specific topic, it's essential to provide a concise and relevant response that highlights your expertise and accomplishments. Begin by briefly summarizing your relevant experience in the area, emphasizing key projects or achievements. Use specific examples to demonstrate your skills and capabilities, showcasing how you effectively handled challenges or contributed to successful outcomes. Be confident and articulate in your delivery, ensuring that your response aligns closely with the requirements of the role or situation. By focusing on concrete examples and results, you can effectively showcase your expertise and suitability for the position.

The best way to answer the question is to practice and prepare beforehand. You can use the STAR method to write down a few examples of your experience with different skills, tools, projects, or situations that are relevant to the job you’re applying for. They also want to see how you communicate your experience and how you handle challenges or feedback.

When asked about a specific experience - do not say only general things like "yes, I worked with this". Try to expand your answer with some examples, how you used your skills to tackle different tasks related to this experience, and also why you used this and not something different to show the logic of your actions.

Use the STAR format to tell a story in a sense. This format will give them an insight into how well you worked in your last role and what tasks you did to achieved your goals and ambitions. Speak with confidence and knowledge of how you grew in your last role and why .

The STAR method might feel a little cheesy at first if you're just jumping back into the job market, but it's truly effective in showing IMPACT. When answering any question about your abilities and skillset, the best way to showcase that is through telling a story, explaining the task at hand, what you did to accomplish the task, and how that made an impact on your project or the company as a whole. This shows you understood the skillset they're asking about, proved you have done it before, and gives the interviewer context into how your previous position is translatable to the position you're interviewing for.

When using the STAR method, I'd advise you to keep the Situation and Task parts as brief as possible. This is because the interviewers are interested in what YOU did in that context, which is what you detail in the Actions part of the answer. This should be the longest section of your answer. And then add the end of the story, the outcome and the impact to the final part, the Results section of your STAR answer.
