Apart from regularly upgrading or patching the cloud-based tools you also need to ensure: 1. The tools operating environment is hardened against potential security mis-configurations. Example: default ports and services are disabled, default accounts and passwords are removed, S3 buckets are not open to public access etc 2. The cloud-based tools are following a secure SDLC ensuring they are not vulnerable to OWASP Top 10, CWE Top 25 Most Dangerous Software Errors 3. Real time logging, monitoring and alerting in place to detect and prevent any unauthorized access or abuse 4. Open source/Third Party packages, libraries and extensions are continuously scanned for known CVEs/exploits
