Some things to consider for obsolete MRO Inventory: - Ensure a standard is in place to define what is Truly Obsolete - I prefer this to include usage, criticality and if tied to an asset as a spare part - This should be aligned across stakeholders and key SMEs to prevent potential downtime due to lack of spares - Once defined make it simple to access the data and report out - this helps later with KPIs as well - Create a standard process to review including experienced SMEs from operations - Create a standard disposal process - This should include seeing first of can be used somewhere across the company vs buying new, then checking with key suppliers if can be restocked or purchased back, then to external market to sale and lastly to scrap
