When I read point 4 Encourage Dialogue, it feels like there are two different points that are conveyed in this paragraph. 1. I believe what is being mentioned is like coaching or as I call it clarification session. This is an original acronym I created when dealing with feedback sessions I call it HAPPY, and I will share it with you today. When having a coaching or clarification session you need to be Humble, be Available be Prepared, be Precise, be You. I can go into more detail if there is interest if not I will leave it as is.

When in a team environment open dialogue is invaluable, if done correctly it can motivate inspire and challenge team members to think outside the box to find new and innovative ways to solve problems. E.g.: When I lead my team, when facing a difficult challenge, I would pose this problem to the team and have them come up with ways to solve this problem. My goal was to create an environment of trust which I believe breaks down barriers resulting in improved problem-solving and effectiveness. As a leader to get the best out my team I needed to create a positive environment, be present and consistent with my brainstorming sessions and provide timely feedback.
