Your team members resist feedback in a project meeting. How can you effectively address their resistance?

The key is to know the reason of resistance ,then it paves the way to address the reasons. In this situation ,if the Manager already have good knowledge of each one of the team members and their predicaments ,then he can have open and free communication with the team as a group or in cases individually to clear their apprehensions and convince them why it is important to share the feedbacks wherein the Manager can put forth the progress and benefit of not only organization but also each one of them lies with the feedback. This feedback is very much necessary to identify weak areas and bottlenecks of project target and solution thereof.Its the skill and abilities of Project Manager to present the feedback in a cordial manner for best result

Acknowledge their concerns and create a safe space for open dialogue. Use specific, constructive feedback and emphasize the benefits for the project's success. Ensure active listening and show appreciation for their input.

What I usually do is to use Techniques such as Retrospective (What Worked Well, What Didn't Work, What We Must Start Doing, What We Need to Stop Doing) as a collaborative way of giving and receiving feedback. From there, in a co-creative session we build the new route!

The more AI becomes part of our lives, the more being data-driven becomes needed. In my experience I always associate feedback with Data, actually I don't think there's any other way. I'm used to use tools such as DailyBot and RADR.Work to generate insights from Project and Team Data, hence building a data-driven feedback.

Open communication can help resolving the issue. If not open to speaking in meetings, to start with, I would begin an individual conversation. Try to make them realise that no one is perfect but we can get perfect output in the project if we work as a team. All team members may have different expertise, let's explore that and use it together for the ultimate object. And to understand the others expertise, we need to know & understand each other, sit together and discuss. Such discussion may have positive and negative points of each other, let's accept it. Only if we know our weak points,we can work to improve upon. So feedback is very important to find the correct path to move ahead.

Honestly I tend to avoid dialogues and discussions, and use co-creative methods such as Dot Voting and Brainstorming to generate ideas. After all, we don't want the feedback itself, we want the improvement. Hence, it's better to get the Lessons Learned and build the action plan, instead of finding a "safe environment" for back-and-forth bragging.

Don't focus on the feedback itself, focus on the Action Plan after the learning.
