Smile. Smile. Clap. Encourage the hell out of them. They need to face their fear of shame and social isolation. Practicing with a warm crowd and giving useful fast to implement feedback helps.

Baby steps - that always works. I had a team member who broke into a sweat at the mere mention of presenting. Instead of throwing them into the deep end, I started by asking them to present a 2-minute update during our smaller team meetings. Next, I gradually increased the audience size, like moving from kiddie pool to the shallow end. When they finally gave a full presentation, I made sure to sit front and center, giving them a thumbs-up whenever I saw the nerves kick in. Little by little, they started believing in their capability. Confidence grows with every small win—like building muscle, one rep at a time!
