I've worked with colleagues who have stated they just don't "believe" in sustainability. They couldn't see the long or short term value of embedding sustainability in their business line. But sustainability doesn't require a belief system - its an action, an ability. You start by doing. Focus on the low-hanging fruit projects and make them as visible as possible - branding is key here. Work with waste vendors to implement single-stream recycling processes and understand the cost-saving from sending it to general waste. In the short term, sustainability can appear expensive, but over the long term, is the most cost-effective option. If they're not interested in saving the enviroment, they will be interested in saving money. Start there.
