Keep teams small. Use the "two-pizza team" principle, limiting group size to 8-10 people. Smaller teams improve reaction speed, and individual motivation. Research by Hackman and Vidmar found that for many tasks, the optimal group size is 4 or 5. 3. "Juniors speak first": Have less experienced team members share insights before senior ones. This prevents the Highest-Paid Person's Opinion effect and allows juniors to provide valuable "soft" information from their interactions and analysis without being influenced by higher-ups.
