To identify and nurture future leaders in my team, I focus on spotting those who consistently show initiative and the ability to think critically when facing challenges. I encourage them to continue developing by providing access to learning opportunities, whether through training, mentorship, or new experiences. I also give them the chance to lead by assigning them tasks or projects that stretch their skills and help them step into leadership roles. By offering guidance and real-world leadership opportunities, I help these team members grow into the leaders of tomorrow.

I believe every team has untapped potential, and spotting future leaders starts with intention. Many future leaders stand out and tend to be those who take initiative, communicate effectively, and earn the trust of their peers. Emotional intelligence—self-awareness, empathy, and resilience tend to be key along with problem-solving skills and adaptability under pressure. To help them grow, I assign stretch opportunities that challenge their abilities and build confidence. I pair them with mentors, encourage ongoing learning, and create space for risk-taking and self-reflection. Celebrating their wins is key to fueling momentum. I’ve seen firsthand how investing in people unlocks not only their potential but transforms the entire team.
