In our EQ @Work program where bridging cultural and generational gaps is an outcome, we have been most successful by doing two things in tandem: 1. Teaching essential EQ skills to employees like self-awareness and developing understanding and empathy, communications and conflict resolution. 2. Providing professionally facilitated Peer Conversations where coworkers can get to know each other in meaningful ways that have been removed from remote and hybrid work environments.

Culture change is challenging, requiring shifts in behaviors, values, and mindsets. Success depends on fostering open dialogue, where employees can ask questions, share thoughts, and voice concerns without fear of judgment. Creating channels for honest communication and truly listening shows respect for their perspectives. Employees are more likely to embrace change when they feel safe, valued, and important. When leaders communicate the reasons behind the change, they create purpose and connection. Recognizing employees’ efforts during transitions builds trust, enabling a resilient, engaged culture where everyone feels they have a role in the journey forward
