I always encourage the team to have an open and honest conversation with their manager. I know it can be scary, but it's so important to voice their concerns and feelings in a respectful way. I've found that managers are often unaware of how their communication style is impacting the team. that conversation isn't always easy. That's where I come in as an HR facilitator. I'll often sit down with the team and help them plan out what they want to say, and even role-play the conversation to help them feel more prepared. I encourage them to focus on specific behaviors and impacts, rather than making general complaints. I also try to help the manager understand their own communication style and how it might be perceived by others.
