I believe there are three main aspects that must be visible to the involved teams, and come from the leadership: 1. Disagreeing is good, but you need to communicate - Fostering open communication with an empathetic approach, where everyone feels heard. 2. The overall objectives of the project are the same for everybody - Conversations should align around the overall business goals and outcomes, rather than personal preferences, to bring everyone back to the bigger picture. 3. Encourage an objective analysis of each approach - Aim for consensus and/or compromise where the solution leads to achieving the goals and the teams can see their contribution. Ultimately, a project sponsor or a senior leader can provide guidance to move forward.
