I believe one of the most effective ways to make informed decisions and decide trade-offs is data - both qualitative and quantitative. By collecting and analyzing data, one is able to objectively identify prioritize user needs with the most reaching impact, and how it also translates to achieving business goals. Data provides empirical evidence needed to persuade and align the various teams across board.

To deal with this as a leader I see a framework: 1. Collecting data(Qualitative & quantitative) and conduct meeting with experienced stakeholders to gather best of the priorities to tackle this project. 2. Creating journey path for the team members and assigning the task based on you team members strength and deploy the journey path while being the key connection between them. 3. Monitor it as the needs are fulfilled and add value wherever possible on the journey.

Accurate Goals Give Accurate Results To create an achievable roadmap for the development of your product, you need to define specific goals. The more precise you are with these goals, the more accurately you will be able to achieve them.

1- Understand the feature deeply, how it impacts the user and how it is going to change the product scope and code structure. 2- Think simple, avoid design practices that can end up with chaotic user actions. 3- Try to use instinctive design which will take users to evaluate and take action not more than a 10 second. 4- Avoid drastic changes and keep the design flow stable for an easy adaptation. Note that, just because you know your product and the design you created make sense to you, doesn't specifically mean it will relate to your users, using common sense is the key.

The end goal for any business is to make good revenue , which comes with customer satisfaction. Hence Feature prioritisation can help to resolve such conflict. The team should gather data in terms of 1. Business benefits (revenue) 2. Customer impact (volume of customer impacted/requested this feature) 3. Cost for developing the feature Once the above data is gathered, all required stakeholders can decide jointly and align the feature prioritisation. High value features should be taken up first followed by medium and low.

Prioritisation can only happen if there is a journey mapping available. Prioritisation cannot be seen as a singular event, its a culmination of all factors including the health of the product in the face of a new technology (ex. genAI) to security. Some features bring revenue, some make the product robust. Eisenhower matrix with Moscow rating works the best. Product teams need to ensure these are labelled quantitatively (cost benefit analysis, survival models) and qualitatively (customer survey, focus groups). These will differ widely in b2b and b2c use cases.

Impact vs. Effort Matrix Prioritize features based on their potential impact on user satisfaction and the effort required to implement them. Create user stories to show how each feature benefits the user, helping the team understand the user perspective.
