From my experience, low productivity in strategic departments is frequently related to unclear vision and objectives and a lack of constant alignment with stakeholders. The team ends up producing tons of documents that are never used or need to be changed completely. Here are some tips to reduce "yield loss" when designing an IT strategy: 1) Define a clear vision and objectives and align them with leadership and stakeholders before designing the IT strategy. 2) Design the IT strategy in iterative cycles. Invite leadership and stakeholders to validate "work in progress."? 3) Prioritize the topics that are most important and avoid deep dives into topics that have low impact on the strategy.

RACI (Responsible, Accountable, Consulted, Informed) matrix helps clearly chart out the roles and responsibilities of the project stakeholders. RACI matrix will facilitate effective communication among the team and stakeholders leading to better collaboration. RACI will enhance accountability and ensures that there is a designated individual who is answerable for respective outcomes. RACI will help duplication of efforts and ensures tasks are assigned to the most appropriate individual. RACI encourages stakeholder engagement, promotes transparency and inclusivity.

Iterative development enables teams to deliver smaller, incremental pieces of features frequently there by giving the team opportunity to respond to changes quickly and deliver value. Since agile requires continuous interaction with clients/ end users, it will help foster collaboration between the team and clients. Cross-functional teams of agile will help teams with autonomous decision making enabling them to handle various complexity of tasks leading to increased productivity. Agile promotes regular retrospectives to make sure the feedback is key contributor of improvements within the teams.

When we talk about increasing productivity of the team there are two ways, One bring an out side consultant and he based on his experience will try to implement things as mentioned above like automation or digital tool etc... but all this would be based on his experience and not from the operating environment. The another path is making team aware and equipping how to identify the tasks they are performing are repeatable and how these can be standardised, improved and automate.... That would be from the operating environment and would bring the real results as this will solve the real issues and improve the productivity.
