To effectively bridge the gap between stakeholders’ priorities and an operational plan, one must first thoroughly understand both sides. Engaging in open communication with stakeholders to comprehend their concerns and objectives is crucial. Then, reassessing the operational plan to identify areas of flexibility where adjustments could align with stakeholders’ interests without compromising strategic goals would be my next step. Collaboration and finding common ground are key; sometimes this may involve compromise or innovative problem-solving to satisfy both parties while still driving forward with an effective business strategy.

In observing and analyzing sensemaking patterns, I have found that a dialogue with stakeholders to uncover their priorities is an essential endeavor. A great example of this work is during a project to improve our organization's cybersecurity practices. I met with multiple department heads to talk about their specific concerns and needs.
