An excellent example I have seen in sales of embracing change is characterized by the phrase "the market has spoken." I saw a regulation launch that was unfunded leaving the burden on SMBs to comply. Many people saw it as an opportunity but dud not come up with a limited budget solution. The margins were too thin in that particular segment to address with standard solutions. Everyone tried and the market was stalling until the very last minute to be in compliance. As usual, the compliance dates were pushed and product development and design for a solution were sunk. If the product had been driven by listening closely to the market and solving other issues also, the costs would have been an investment.
