First, I’d look for ways to roll back to a previous software version or troubleshoot compatibility issues to regain access to my design. Maintaining backups helps in restoring key elements quickly. If rolling back isn’t an option, I’d adapt by exploring alternative tools or software that can support the project without losing the design’s integrity.

One thing you should remember is that the new features in an update are not fully tested from the point of view of how you use the application so I would suggest to hold off updating the software and give it time so that the updates become stable and all the bugs get resolved.. the developers are constantly working to make the latest updates worth. Being in a hurry to update will most of the time backfires on you.

I try to avoid automatic updates, (turn it off in most cases) as the new version will have bugs. If it’s an annual software release I wait 2-4 weeks before updating.

When a software update disrupts my workflow, I start by reviewing release notes to spot any quick setting adjustments that might resolve compatibility issues. I rely on both cloud and local backups to ensure easy restoration if something goes wrong, and I always check compatibility for essential plugins before updating. If the new version causes significant issues, I’m prepared to revert to an older version temporarily. I also turn to online forums and support channels for solutions from others who may have encountered similar glitches. Staying calm and resourceful helps me keep the project on track.

Actually I like to go ahead with the new updates. May be it will take more time than usual but the end result will be satisfied... To be in safe side keep auto back up on.
