In smaller teams, we often don’t have separate UX and UI designers; instead, as the game designer I have to take on the responsibility of player experience, along with UI designers, to enhance UX. To bridge the gap between game design and UI, I make it a priority to foster open communication between both roles. Here’s how I approach it: Early Collaboration: I collaborate with UI designers from the start to discuss goals and vision. Regular Check-Ins: We have ongoing discussions throughout the design process to ensure everyone is on the same page. Player-Centric Focus: I emphasize that our main goal is to enhance player experience, encouraging everyone to share ideas and feedback.

We can make a project management system like a game where people compete to finish design tasks. We can give points for finishing design tasks, make leaderboards, and give fun rewards like badges, avatars, or even team shout-outs when UI and UX designers work together to reach design goals. Design Sprint Battle Mode: We can make "sprint battles" where teams work on quick prototype designs in a competition. This will get both teams to solve problems quickly and make the work more fun and less like a chore. These new, game-like ways to work not only make it more fun for people to play, but they also make it easier for teams to work together in a fun and effective way.
