In my experience, I would go back and see when the financial goals started to deviate. Once identified the moment(s), I would try to understand why they were developing in that way and what the root causes were. Maybe there were external influences conditioning and making waves to conflict each other. Or, the issues were not so difficult to resolve at the beginning, and I did not put much effort to make it easy and align with my supervisor's financial goals. On the other hand, and in order to make it work, it is always useful to find a common ground among each other's financial goals. In the end, we have to align our expectations and personal goals with the organization and supervisor.
