There are multiple tools that are available for collaboration but for visual brainstorming of any new product the first part that needs to be clear always that i suggest is to understand what problem we are trying to solve. Put all pointers of the problem statement and then start mapping who all will benefit by solving and how will be benefitted. This can be achieved using Mind map tools and also tools like trello to put all pointers. Now teams can pick one by one items and put the ideas to solve them. Buddy reviews can be done so that the solutions are been thought through and also reviewed by the teams. There are multiple tools like MS teams / Slack which can help to provide the comments and also mention the thought process.

Here’s what we as a team of 9 designers in a 100+ member project team found effective- Creating a separate design sprint kanban board on JIRA with a dedicated prefix for design related tickets (UI, UX or DOR), and linking these tickets to relevant user stories to keep track of adhoc and incremental changes in an agile environment. We also tagged these ticket to relevant epics and sprints when required, which made it super easy for Devs to view and manage their workload, and SMs to track sprint progress. We are translating this model to another project with a much smaller team, so it’s easier to manage collaboration.

Often, people forget that we all usually want the same thing at the end of a project. Making a product successful that sells is good for all of us and in our own way, we’re all trying to do that. Reminding yourself & stakeholders of that and working backwards from there can help to clarify the thinking of others.
