Your true strategic differentiators are those things that your competitors can't replicate. There are few brands that are so superfluous that their competitors can fully replicate them. If you feel that your differentiators are being replicated they aren't really what differentiates your product/brand. They're transient edges you hold. That is why the other responses emphasize constant innovation. You have to maintain an edge, but your core market position can't be replicated away. You only lose position on core differentiators when the market shifts. Then it's time for transformation, not innovation.

One of the first things to realize is that “No one can actually copy your idea or strategy” One may want to argue the above point and I have done that in the past. What is important to realize is that your vision, your passion, your strengths and your weakness as an organization are yours. Hence there is a DNA to your strategy that is very hard to mimic. Having said that - it is critical to determine Moat and what makes your competitive edge happen. Is it capability or is it customer service or is it constant innovation? There is no right or wrong answer. What you need to do when competition arrives is to double down on what drives your success.
