Encourage open communication, where everyone feels heard, and resolve conflicts promptly. Create a culture of mutual respect by recognizing diverse strengths and contributions. Promote team-building activities to strengthen bonds and trust. Delegate responsibilities based on strengths, allowing team members to depend on each other. Finally, set shared rewards to motivate the group to work toward common goals.

Cause of power struggle is psychological safety. Root cause of less safety is FEAR and fear is not a great motivator. Fear of not getting promoted, or fear of unable to justify the current role or fear being rated as a low performer. -> To start with, it is important that there are good levels of trust between the manager (coach) and team member. This depends on how managers consciously and un-consciously communicate with them. -> Managers should help define team member's 'sphere of influence' and focus areas. In line with that, managers should communicate in terms of GOALS and be a partner with them in achieving those goals. -> Hold them accountable for achieving those goals but team member should never feel threatened by failure.
