Your client is struggling with limiting beliefs. How can you help them build self-efficacy?
When you're helping a client overcome limiting beliefs, understanding and enhancing their self-efficacy is crucial. Self-efficacy refers to one's belief in their ability to succeed in specific situations or accomplish a task. It's a foundational concept in motivational interviewing, a counseling approach designed to strengthen personal motivation and commitment to a specific goal by eliciting and exploring the person's own reasons for change within an atmosphere of acceptance and compassion. If your client doubts their capabilities, it can prevent them from taking action and achieving their goals. Your role is to guide them toward recognizing their strengths and past successes, thus building the confidence needed to change their limiting beliefs.
