My advice tends to be: 1) Only apply to jobs you are well-qualified for. Companies have too many good candidates and are unlikely to give a chance to the ambitious but less qualified person. 2) Don't take rejection or ghosting personally. It sucks, but it's a numbers game right now. Even people with many years of impressive experience are rejected. 3) Reduce time on social media unless it's a site that makes you feel AWESOME about life. If it's not lifting you up, reduce your time there. Put your own oxygen mask on first.

Here is the C.A.L.M. Formula I follow in times of stress: C – Control: Focus on what you can control. For ex. Improve your resume, engage in networking. A – Achieve: Set small, achievable daily milestones and track progress. L – Lean on Support: Seek support from friends, family, or mentors. Get motivation and encouragement. M – Maintain Positivity: Be in a positive mindset. Celebrate small wins and stay patient throughout the process. The above C.A.L.M. formula can help reduce job search stress and stay focused on progress.

When job search stress hits, help your client focus on what they can control. Encourage them to view each application or interview as part of the learning process. Shift the focus from the end goal to manageable actions they can take daily. Remind them that taking breaks is key to gaining perspective, not just rest. Job searching is a long game, and by focusing on progress, they’ll reduce the pressure and find clarity in the process.
