1 Understand their perspective

Before you pitch your ideas, try to understand where your boss is coming from. What are their goals, challenges, preferences, and constraints? How do they measure success and evaluate risks? What kind of information and evidence do they need to make decisions? By empathizing with their perspective, you can tailor your ideas to align with their needs and expectations, and avoid proposing solutions that are irrelevant, unrealistic, or impractical.

En mi opinión creo que lo más adecuado sería pedir feedback directo, saber el porqué de que tu jefe piense así, si verdaderamente desconfía o existen otros factores externos por los que no se puedan llevar a cabo esas ideas de manera creativa. Luego, haz un ejercicio de autocrítica: ?Las ideas encajan con la imagen de mi cliente/empresa? ?Es un buen momento para mí cliente/empresa para aplicar estas ideas? ?Hay algo que haya hecho por los que mi jefe desconfíe de la eficacia de mis ideas? Este análisis previo es muy recomendable para cualquier tipo de presentación de ideas y propuestas a tu equipo

2 Communicate your ideas clearly

Your ideas may be brilliant, but if you can't communicate them clearly, your boss won't be able to see their value. Visual communication always works for me. I find I am easily able to talk to something visual. A graphic or image is easy to digest and can often speak louder than just words. Just be careful to not over promise with your imagery and end up with a wonka situation!!

I’ve been having this convo a lot recently and just learned there is a name for this … … the IKEA effect! People are more likely to feel love and pride for someone that they have helped to build, just like a piece of IKEA furniture. - engage them early - ask for their input - answer their concerns or questions - celebrate success with them

Championing a new idea can be a feast to a creative mind, but anything short of full approval can cause an instant stomach ache. Instead of seeing feedback or criticism as inherently bad, try to see it as an invitation to another course - or another feast entirely! This can reset the creative hunger and give you the drive to refine and redeliver an improved idea or product. Just don't burn yourself out with back-to-back iterations. If your schedule allows, take time to complete other tasks and digest the feedback you have received. When you are ready to jump back in, approach your idea from another angle to provide a fresh take and make it seem like a whole new creative meal to devour!
