Learn the rules of the game and then play it better then anyone else. It’s all situational but your time is probably better spent focusing on your own growth, your teams growth and not a pitch. Consider focusing on what your supervisor’s supervisor or even that persons supervisor focuses on. It’s possible to leap frog if you want to play the corporate ladder.
