If you truly desire to be a leader, then lifelong learning must be one of your primary goals. Remember, there's leadership and there's management. You don't have to move to management to be a leader. Today's business world is growing and developing rapidly. In my opinion, you should not fall behind in this race. As a freelancer, I am constantly updating my knowledge. Especially for me, who is a content writer, it is very important to follow the changes that Google makes in its algorithms.

1. First of all, evaluate where your team or company would urgently need improvement (e.g. marketing, planning, operations, finance, etc.). Refer to the company KPIs. 2. Once you identify weak areas, you can start to analyze root causes of issue, study if similar issue occured previously in analogues projects and how they overcome it, customize this tested solutions to your project making ur own plan/proposal. 3. Advise your proposal with line manager of that field and with all involved members, and agree (make changes if feedback improves the proposal). 4. Work on execution of this solution. Stay resolute to achieve set goal. Joint implementation of this plan and and recognition of team work should inspire your team to do even more.

Stay updated on the latest trends, technologies, and methodologies in database development by continuously learning and expanding your skill set. I still remember vividly, over 20 years ago, when I noticed a person who worked for the same company who made a large amount of money per hour. At the time, I was making good money, but it was nowhere near where that individual was. The one thing I did not like about this person, the fact that he never spoke to anyone in the office. He would work hard coding all day long, every day. We used to joke that he likely had spider webs growing around his work area because he was not personable at all. I believe to become a great leader, you need to communicate with others, not just in the workplace, but also in many other areas, as well. You need to find others who can help you grow. Making friends is a start, but becoming better is best.

Let's be fair here, not everyone is able to contribute to open source. However, do your best to support the concept. Most important though is to actively support the community, especially around those tools that you actively use.

Be disruptive, innovate outside the lines, think big, motivate people, compensate them accordingly, make them special. The project you lead must bring excellence and be rewarding.

Create a failsafe environment. That way your team is supported and encouraged to explore thinking out of box and practice innovation. Take calculated risks coz there is no rewards without risks.

From my years of experience I believe authenticity and consistency can make all the difference over time and showcase your skills and tenacity to your vision. This in turn attracts leaders in that industry to want to connect and partner with you. Irrespective of the height one attains if you get there by deceit or you’re willing to trade your vision for money, then you may end up not being a role model in your chosen field.
