Nothing improves quality writing like reading and writing, and writing, and writing. That being said, everyone needs an editor/coach to get helpful feedback. The apps can help but they can't do the real work. A grammar app, for example, may correct your mistakes but unless you understand the concepts, you will never full master the art of writing.

Apps will not help you - on the contrary, you have to work at educating yourself. Algorithms will neither do your work for you nor tell you what is best for you.

It is the key to being able to express oneself more effectively with words. Use apps that make learning new words more fun. Engage in communication with people from a variety of cultural backgrounds and experiences. This enriches your vocabulary.

Reading helps a lot to increase your vocabulary. Figure out first, what topics would you like to read. Google and shortlist them, keep them on your kindle. I do carry a kindle but I am a big fan of physical book copies. Alternatively, maintain an excel on the topics you have read, insert a column and write your thoughts on that topic. You can also use Grammarly and Wordtune. Focus on the topic using Pomodoro technique, you can focus for 25 minutes, then take a 5 minute break, then do 25 minutes again.

One learns about various expressions through reading and then can analyse their style of writing. This is true across languages!

Last but super important step: make people read your writings and get feedback to improve. Do that on a consistent basis and your writing skills will massively improve. Apps or no apps.

The best thing for improving my digital writing was joining a cohort group and writing every day for 30 days straight. "Practicing" writing daily and getting feedback is what helped me become a better writer and "thinker." If writing is an important skill to you that you want to improve, you'll do it DAILY without fail. Get the reps in, get feedback, and keep improving. Simply reading about writing better isn't going to help you. Write daily if and reap the benefits.
