I feel, unless we are NOT intrinsically motivated to learn, upgrade oneself there is no conscious learning, If an HR wishes to upgrade and upskill- Ask yourself questions: Why? What is the purpose? What is the trigger? (It could be anything) How? Where and when? With this, readiness begins. It's a huge advantage. Of meeting new entities, people and knowing about their experiences. I would also suggest linking yourself to groups with similar thought processes in order to gather new perspectives + the meeting the opposite to learn new approaches. Through social relationships, courses, training hours one can find opportunities to grow and evolve.

First Look Inside- do you have passion for people and conversations, if not this is not your cup of tea. 2. Skills are secondary - You will become better at it by coming on the runway everyday. 3. Progression is a by product of your passion, personal impact, personal connections with people of influence and decision. 4. T&D is not a Money making department. Hence, always remember there is no incentive, all that you gain over the years is sense of fulfillment and people transformation stories, which is way beyond money. It is not a highly paid career like Marketing, Sales or Finance. Choose it if you love it.

I think the best way to advance your career in T&D is: 1. Build your network and influence: The more people who know about you and can vouch for you the easier the decision is for leadership. 2. Proven success: Of course no advancement is possible without a proven track record of great performance. Ensure your metrics are tracked and you share the impact created by your initiatives. 3. Continuous learning: Learn what new skills, techniques and technologies are available in the market, share new ideas, and be innovative in your approach. 4. Seek feedback: Understand expectations and work on the feedback to improve on your skills etc. Document progress and share regularly.

In my Experience if you need to build a career in training and development you need first to take a deep dive inside yourself to evaluate your passion for the career. sometimes the T&D career may not be rewarding as sales management or marketing, however if you have the passion then you know you will excel. To grow on the career you need to be a strong communicator and a team player, also you are motivated by supporting others. Your personality style should be towards extroversion more. emotional intelligence is another important skills you need to master. these are just few top of mind thoughts, to re-emphasis passion for this career is your main driver for growth because we face many obstacles on hte road to success
